Don’t Put Off Planning For 2023; Start Today.

You have that time now; if you wait until the third quarter, you will not.

Now is the time to begin making plans. You’ve just completed another renewal season. And, while getting here has taken time, you must maintain pace and keep the runway open in order to make timely judgments about your strategy moving ahead.

Whether it’s a new solution provider or an entirely new strategy, you’ll need time to evaluate your strategy and gather data. It’s possible that you’ll need to interview several vendors, solution partners, and advisers.

You have that time now; if you wait until the third quarter, you will not. You won’t have enough time to make an informed decision if you wait till then.

In fact, you may feel rushed and hesitant to make the best decision.

We’re currently working with a customer and are interviewing key people of the organization in phases. This has already been a three-month process, but they will have the fourth quarter to make informed decisions and put in place a smooth and uniform procedure.

You can as well.

Examining your health-care plan in detail is an important part of creating a strategy that works for your company and its unique workforce.

Your plan may require you to be willing to try things a little differently to determine what components would work better for you and your employees.

The following are some signs that your strategy needs to be reconsidered:

  • Every year, you’ll see the same two or three carriers offering the same answer. Are you getting exposed to the correct solutions if this is the case? Most likely not. Your current broker’s solution may be the only one available, but it may not be the best.
  • Is your broker or advisor recommending solutions or plans that aren’t supported by the major carriers? If not, they may be losing out on possibilities to innovate, which might save you money while providing greater benefits to your employees.
  • Is your broker or advisor willing to give you better service or approach the renewal season in a timely manner? Are they putting out the effort and providing you with that service if you ask queries and seek improvements?
  • Are your increases likely to last over the next five years? If you do the arithmetic and the answer is no, you must act quickly to resolve the problem before it becomes unsolvable. If your path leads you in an unaffordable route, you’ll need fresh solutions to address those issues.

If you’re experiencing these scenarios year after year, it’s time to take a fresh look at your strategy and consider new opportunities and suggestions for cutting expenses and improving usability.

Enhance the employee experience.

It’s critical to reconsider your strategy and be open to new possibilities. It is critical to have enough time to make decisions.

All of the company’s decision-makers require time to make their decisions. They may not be present at every meeting, but for a new solution to be effective, they must be informed, included in the workflow, and participate in the process.

This takes some time.

Don’t put off getting the most out of your health insurance until November. Begin right now. Going into the fourth quarter, you might be amazed at how simple planning can be.
