Health Insurance Agent Certification
What are the Health Insurance agent certifications you need to start selling?
At this point, you know the requirements you need in order to be an insurance agent. Other than deciding what insurance agent you want to be and what products you want to offer, you have to take a look at what certifications you need before you start selling.
Certifications can help agents boost their value and let employers know they are capable enough to sell whatever product they will offer to the market. This may be a big factor to get your first sale.
For Health Insurance Agents, here are 7 certifications that can level up their career: Certified Professional, Life and Health Insurance Program (CPLHI), Health Insurance Associate (HIA), Certified Insurance Examiner (CIE), Certified Sales Professional (CSP), Certified Correctional Health Professional – Mental Health (CCHP-MH), Dental Assistant (RDA), and Associate, Life and Health Claims (ALHC).
All these certifications are not created equal, and for different purposes, under Health Insurance. Here’s a table to identify the ranks of each certification:

THE 7 BEST HEALTH INSURANCE AGENT CERTIFICATIONS
1. Certified Professional, Life and Health Insurance Program (CPLHI)
The Certified Professional, Life and Health Insurance Program (CPLHI) is a three-course education program taught in Bahasa Indonesia that was created to address the industry education needs of Indonesian professionals. The CPLHI Program, which has been recognized by the Insurance Directorate, Ministry of Finance, and the Life Assurance Association of Indonesia (AAJI), which also requested that LOMA design it, provides a comprehensive business education for life and health insurance professionals.
2. Health Insurance Associate (HIA)
Employers rely on key performers in a competitive workplace. You’ll join the industry’s elite if you achieve the HIA credential from the Center; more than 20,000 professionals have completed this extensive program. You’ll study principles, contracts, underwriting, and marketing to develop a full understanding of the marketing, administration, and evaluation of various types of coverage.
3. Certified Insurance Examiner (CIE)
A CIE is given to insurance regulatory professionals who have earned an AIE in one discipline and have completed cross-training in another. To earn a CIE, applicants must have earned (or meet the educational requirements for earning) an AIE through either the Property-Casualty Educational Path or the Life-Health Educational Path, complete the required course work along the same path as the AIE, and meet certain employment and experience requirements.
4. Certified Sales Professional (CSP)
The Certified Sales Professional (CSP) curriculum teaches you how to sell in a consultative manner. Attendees return to the territory with a revitalized zest for selling, from business creation to enhanced time and territory management; goal-setting to prospecting, and all in between.
5. Certified Correctional Health Professional – Mental Health (CCHP-MH)
In the custodial setting, mental health providers encounter unique problems. They must deliver effective, efficient care to a high-acuity population while dealing with stringent security rules, crowded facilities, and a slew of legal and public-health issues that are specific to this field. Continuous professional development is required to meet these obstacles. Practitioners who have engaged in a process of ongoing, focused, and targeted professional development can get specialty certification.
6. Dental Assistant (RDA)
A Oral Assistant is an important member of the dental health team, with training, experience, and a good understanding of patient care. As established by state statutes, the Dental Assistant is qualified to assist in administrative activities such as chairside, laboratory, and radiographic procedures. The Dental Assistant aims to develop good will and confidence within the dental practice as a representative of the Dentist.
7. Associate, Life and Health Claims (ALHC)
