Health Insurance Sales Tips

When people venture out to new things they have this initial thought of wanting to be successful in the industry they entered, they just don’t know how to. It may be easier said than done, but with the right mindset, habits, and exertion of effort it is possible.

Being a health insurance agent is challenging but when you get to learn how to be a good one, then you can definitely build a profitable business. Here are some health insurance sales tips:

1. Keep in mind that you’re a sales professional – You don’t force a lead to buy a product that they don’t need. You must make the effort to get to know the person and identify what product he/she needs the most. After identifying and they aren’t convinced on why they need the product this is where you have to unleash your sales skills. You must educate him well and let him/her know that you will be guiding them in making the best decision for him/her or for his family.

2. Mirroring – You have to speak the same way as your leads speak, be as relatable as possible and make them comfortable. Use the language your prospects are using, it really helps in catching their attention. This is another way on how to build a relationship between you and the prospect.

3. Explore until you reach your Niche Market – Attend networking activities, maximize advertising, purchase exclusive leads. These are ways on how to narrow down your market, you’ll see where you have the highest success rate eventually.

4. Ask for referrals – Once you get clients and make a successful sale, don’t forget to ask for referrals. In order to have referrals from your clients, you must build a good relationship with them until they trust you and get fond of your service.

5. Listen more than talking –  Your prospect will like you a great deal more if you ask the questions and let them do the talking.

6. Stay connected with old leads – Don’t burn bridges. These people may realize anytime that it’s their right time to buy a policy.

7. Use Social Media – Everyone is shifting to work from home or hybrid work setup now, this means people are mostly online. You have to be visible in social media so that people can notice you even if they’re just scrolling at their social media accounts. Build a good brand and be consistent.

8. Hustle! – Nothing will beat working hard. Nothing comes easy, we have to remember that, but if we put in the effort at the right opportunity then you’ll be enjoying the fruits of your labor after. Do it consistently to have that compounding effect, you’ll get your success eventually.
