AHIP training is the first step before you can start selling Medicare Advantage Plans. The AHIP Medicare training covers the basics of eligibility and benefits, along with the different types of Medicare Advantage and Part D prescription drug plans.

DO’S

✓ Set appointments for other insurance products 48 hours AFTER the initial appointment

✓ Producers may ask members to hand out his or her agent business cards for future referrals. All Medicare business cards may only say Medicare Enrollment Specialist on them.

DONT’S

✘ Use material that is not approved by CMS or the carrier

✘ Discuss any other product other than what was discussed during the initial scope of appointment (SOA).
